Indigenous Abruzzo Montepulciano, Abruzzo Trebbiano and Pecorino are accompanied by international Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, Merlot, Moscato and Sauvignon Blanc.
The white labels are obtained from the various vineyards dedicated to the range, while the black labels represent a further selection of the highest quality, with only the best grapes from the best vintages being selected for these exquisite bottles middle.
The yield is very small, while also maximizing quality and offering a new experience for wine lovers interested in exploring new visions.
Each of the nine varietal wines has the name of the grape from which it is made.
The grapes are reflected in the wine like a mirror: biodynamic viticulture methods and winemaking choices ensure that the characteristics of the grapes are not in the slightest compromised, that the wines represent in the most authentic way a single vineyard within a few hectares of its origin, and Mark the geographic coordinates with this.
Geography is also at the center of many elements of the wine: the hand-painted dotted lines and the compass remind the map of a hidden treasure, which guides the adventurer towards the Cru, the central element.
The wood, the natural element, almost emerges from the bottle and rushes towards us, while precisely recognizing the shape of the vineyard, nestled in the unique terroir.
Putting the remaining eight wines together allows the map of the entire Pietranico estate to be reassembled like a puzzle, including its pristine terroirs, beautiful natural oases and biodiversity.
Fully expressing all aspects and unique character of the land is one of the two basic philosophies of Lomanegra vineyard. Another idea behind this production philosophy is to work in the most natural way possible.
Biodynamic farming contributes to one final goal, which is to transform the estate into a large, independent agricultural entity whose parts are interconnected like human organs;
Rosarubra recently began adding regenerative organic farming ( AOR), aimed at restoring the original health of the soil.
Intensive conventional agriculture aims to maximize land yields, never taking into account other elements that contribute to the balance of nature; once this continues, the land eventually becomes infertile and loses the fertility, abundance and biodiversity it deserves. Inevitably, conventional and industrial agriculture found itself constantly using chemical products on the land, further impoverishing them and putting ‘stress’ on the grapes, which in turn had an absolutely negative impact on the wine.
In contrast, biodynamic agriculture follows a very different logic. The purpose of all-natural products used on the land is not to make individual grapes grow well, but the entire vineyard, just like our human health refers to making the whole body feel good, not just a certain organ. We try to harvest with minimal impact on the vines, which can be difficult at times, for example when we have to deal with issues such as lack of rain. All this is done through a closed cycle of creation: using all the resources that the estate naturally offers, creating a positive synergy between the elements of the Rosarubra estate.
This is thanks to a commitment to protecting biodiversity.
Every plant, animal or microbe makes a fundamental contribution to the delicate balance that makes our vineyards unique, so we have selectively planted many medicinal plants around the vineyards. In addition, we also use insect hotels, raise rare animals, raise bees, etc. to create a self-sufficient ecosystem.
To further enrich the soil, we also introduced PRGR – plant-promoting rhizobacteria (i.e. soil organisms that promote plant growth) called mycorrhizae, which help plants absorb the properties of the soil, which is the exact opposite of hydroponics.
Produces neutral fruit crops such as tasteless tomatoes. Working with the plants creates an exchange of information, with the fungus penetrating into the soil and relaying information to the rest of the estate.
Like the movie Avatar, inspired by the nervous system of the farm.
This type of production philosophy requires patience and effort, a tribute to the slow work of nature. Precisely because it is the result of mutual understanding between man and nature, ” Lomanegra vineyard ” produces a series of precious, authentic and sincere wine products, which tell the story of our land and our work. Disregarding fads and trends, these wines are made according to the will of the land, with a rebellious and indomitable character that is not easily tamed by our taste buds.
